Client Testimonials

If you love to travel and can’t get friends or family to travel with you, definitely book her company! Royal takes care of you from start to finish and takes care of every detail. I speak very little Spanish and she made sure that no one took advantage of us. Myself and 11 other ladies from all over the US completed the Medellín tour. We had a city tour, visited Comuna Trece, completed a coffee tour, climbed la Piedra, flew in a helicopter, saw Pablo Escobar’s home and grave, went salsa dancing/lessons at a local pub, ate at fabulous restaurants, did shopping, had massages at a luxe spa, and had amazing tour guides. I’d recommend Yup She Travels to anyone! I had a great time and made some lifelong friends!

Royal, you did an amazing job! Loved, loved, loved it!! So awesome to see the fruits of your labor and that this is going to pop off! Will definitely be trying to do another trip with Yup, She Travels again.

Melinda

About the Host

IMG_9936.heic

The host, Royal, was tired of never getting her trips out of the group chat, so she decided to travel alone. This led to traveling 45+ countries solo and discovering a valuable lesson about finding community through travel. While she enjoys solo travel, some of her most memorable travel experiences were with black women she met along the way. For Royal, finding another solo black woman traveler always elevated the trip, and led to continued friendship afterward.

Something about traveling abroad disarms folks and fosters connections quicker than it would back home. For this reason, Royal sought to create a safe space for women to travel and find their people. Women who maybe would not interact back home, but will easily bond while eating ceviche on the beach.

She's chosen Colombia because after living there for almost 7 years, she knows the place like the back of her hand. Currently, she hosts trips to Cartagena (she's been 15 times) and Medellin (where she lives) to show people the beauty of Colombia and how black history and Colombian history are one and the same.
